Rested Mama
North Devon
11.11.22 - 13.11.22

When a child is born, the Mother is also born. She never existed before. This is to tend to her wild heart.

Motherhood is a daily ride. One that can bring so much joy, but let's be honest, it can also feel all consuming at times. It is so easy to loose connection to a deeper sense of self. A self that is also changing

This Self is the one that Yoga talks to, nurtures and explores, with self compassion and understanding.

These retreats are my offering for Mothers to receive care. Care and support from me, from each other and from Self.

"Be kind to yourself. Then let your kindness flood the world."

Retreat

Gather and create community at Holwell House, a beautiful luxury retreat centre in North Devon.

Experience a weekend of intuitive movement, restorative yoga, and deep rest. All will be foundational and approachable, open for you to take your practice your way, as you need.

Through guided restorative yoga and meditation, journaling,  sauna, and time gathered around the fire, plus delicious nourishing food and space for you to carve as you chose, this peaceful retreat is here for you to nourish every part of you.

Practice

Friday and Saturday candlelit yoga, just before dinner, will be invite whole body and mind, and every layer in between, to sink into conscious, supported rest. Think blankets, bolsters, eye-pillows, soothing music and supportive guidance for you to take what you need to reconnect to you.

On Saturday morning I invite you to explore a fluid movement based practice, softening edges, letting go of expectations of what yoga 'should' look like, and leaning into your intuitive mind-body to guide the way.

During the day on Saturday there is the option to enjoy some hot and cold immersion in the Sauna Garden and outdoor plunge showers. Saturday afternoon offers free time and space to rest, nap, chat, or journal together if you wish.

All practices are optional, the weekend is yous to carve as you need.

Nourish

Seasonal, delicious plant-based meals and snacks (vegan and all dietary requests catered for with advance booking) will keep us feeling well looked after too. All produce is organic, home grown or locally sourced, so we can rest well knowing we are looking after the planet too.

Recommended

The yoga was so empowering and like nothing I have experienced before. I felt entirely comfortable to do whatever my body felt comfortable with and not put pressure on myself to do it in the ‘Instagram’ way!

The reassurance and support from you and everyone else meant that I felt OK about leaving the boys at home with their dad. I didn’t obsess about checking my phone and wasn’t in a rush to get home - all of these things are new to me!

"

Just another thank you for this weekend. It was truly magical and incredibly, profoundly healing. Do you know the waves of energy/relaxation/prana that wash over you during shavasana? I still feel those today. I continue to unwind and unfold. I was in a huge amount of pain and I just I can’t believe how loose and at ease my body feels now, as does my soul. You are such a gift to mothers - so gentle and warm..

It’s been so wonderful to be reunited with my son full of joy and energy and a new appreciation for him. Plus some amazing new sleep habits. I will definitely be back on future retreats.
